The speaking voice
Genesis 13:10 KJV — And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
Hebrews 12:24-25 KJV — And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
Abraham heard the voice of God and told his family he was departing; Lot went with him. Lot was lead by the voice of Abraham not God. When trouble hit, Lot pitched his tent towards Sodom. Abraham didn't give in to the peer pressure and bow to Lot. It's when you don't now and depart for the voice of God, God speaks to you.
We have "Lot's" in life, both in church and in the world. What are you going to do? When you're desire and eyes linger on the world, you bow to the Lot you start pitching your tent towards Sodom.
Pastor left the denomination and didn't bow to the peer pressure of dis-fellowship. God showed up and spoke the Revelations we enjoy now. The man of God hears the voice and preaches conviction, correction and the will of God in the pulpit.
Just as Abraham found out that Sodom didn't have the voice to make even ten righteous in the city, he sought a city that had foundations, whose builder and maker is God. The new Jerusalem the holy city.
Jesus is the voice Who became flesh and instilled the Word into the apostles. The foundation of the new Jerusalem started on the day of Pentecost. Apostolic doctrine is the voice still speaking today.
2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV — (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) the voice comes to ears that hear and faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God; spoken by a preacher. If your desire is for the world you will miss the voice and you will pitch your tent toward Sodom. But if you will hear what the Spirit is saying, you'll be in the new Jerusalem.
