The Importance of Doctrine

The word "doctrine" comes from the Greek word didachē, which means "instruction" or "teaching". Doctrines shouldn't be made from "opinion" or " personal interpretation".

[Mat 7:28 KJV]  And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:

The word of God is something that goes against most opinions. The Spirit is contrary to the flesh, most of the time, God's word goes against what you think or feel, natural senses "flesh". I say most of the time because as you grow to become more like Christ, judging things according to the word becomes your character.
[Gal 5:17 KJV] For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

The word of God will interpret itself, so that God's true will is shown. From Genesis to Revelation, the bible will "witness" that the true will has been shown. The Doctrines of baptism, one God, holiness, faith, order, communion, the enemy, salvation, sanctification and the law etc. All of these should be established by more than one scripture. It should be found throughout the whole bible, yes the Old Testament (school master and shadow) into the New Testament revelation (doctrine or object of the shadow).
[Deu 19:15 KJV] One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.
[Isa 28:9-10 KJV]  Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
[Heb 10:1 KJV]  For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

[2Ti 2:15 KJV] Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Rightly dividing the word of truth: The Old Testament ends at the book of Acts. Mathew, Mark, Luke and John are NT writers, OT life and will.
[Heb 9:16-17 KJV] For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.  For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
With that said, salvation isn't in the OT, but belongs to the NT church, only the shadow of the salvation was in the four "gospels".

As you can see, just by knowing this fact of the gospels, you can now understand how taking scriptures out of the proper dividing, can create a doctrine that doesn't save you. That the word of God interrupted the proper place to find the NT plan of salvation preached on the day of Pentecost, by Peter in the book of Acts; after the death of Jesus and the time for the new will or NT to be preached. [Act 2:37-40 KJV] Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

The word of God is a road map to heaven. The importance of doctrine(s) is the same as if you were trying to get to a place you've never been and had a road map to get there. It's up to you to read it and plan out the roads on it to take you from here to there. A map of the state is a great picture, but not helpful for the inner city roads. Reading the bible as a whole is a great "large" view of it, but word studies bring you into the inner working of His will and directions for your life.

Ever ask someone for directions and get the wrong information?

[2Ti 4:2-5 KJV] Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Within only a few years those that had heard the truth of God's word, in preaching from the Apostles had left that doctrine, creating a mixture of some truths and other religions, traditions, and lies to create new churches. You can read about them in the NT.  Knowing the bible will enable you to see through these creations to see the truth.
[1Jo 2:19 KJV] They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

If you are desiring Truth and a real relationship with Jesus, doctrine means everything.
[Mat 16:11-12 KJV] How is it that ye do not understand that I spake it not to you concerning bread, that ye should beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees? Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.

Oil of Gladness

Pastor's bible study:
He took the chapter Heb 1 and broke it down. Some great one God scriptures here. Heb 1:1-14 KJV 1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son (His own soul, created in the womb of Mary), whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (God Spoke the world into existence & His word became flesh John 1:1, 14) 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself (Jesus died on the cross) purged our sins, sat down on the right hand (God is a spirit, right hand means “power”) of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (Jesus is the name of the Father) 5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. (God never gave this to any of the Prophets, He reserved it for Himself) 7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. (There isn’t thrones, Jesus is King of kings) 9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. (His word manifested in flesh was more than any prophet, apostle or anyone used to the glory of God) 10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: 11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; 12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. 13 But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
The oil of gladness, why? When God stepped into a body, He brought all His power with Him. Every prophet had to ask God to do anything for His glory. Jesus spoke it. Be thou cleanse, be healed, be made whole, thy sins be forgiven thee, come out of her, arise, come forth. He was so holy that His garments being touched healed people. No one was like that. He is the Christ, the anointing oil.
[Isa 40:18 KJV] 18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? Deu 32:4, KJV 4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
Have you fallen on the Rock or lightly esteemed Him? Deu 32:15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked: thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. ... 31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
1Co 10:4 KJV 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 1Pe 2:8 KJV 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. Mat 21:44 KJV 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
Its time to fall on the Rock, He is a mighty and merciful God, and be glad!!!

The Prayer Principle From Mathew 6: 1-13

In Mathew 6 God reveals some principles about praying.

Lets break them down:
Mat 6:1-13 KJV
1-4
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
This is a principle that dives into the "why" are you doing it question. When you do things, from praying, giving, visiting or anything else; do you do it so people can know you did it. Check your heart before you do things, if you don't care if people know or don't know about it, good chance your doing it for the reason of love. But if you want people to know you were involved or see you doing it, then its to glorify yourself & that is the wrong reason. Let love shine through you so God can see it and bless you.

5-8
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
The first part goes with 1-4, prayer is a private conversation with God, even in a public place like church. Yes hearing people pray is great, but it shouldn't be disturbing, but like background music when in public. But in private that conversation should be like your talking to the person sitting right next to you. Which brings us to the next part, think about having a conversation with your best friend, are you going to come before them and say the same thing to them over and over again? How long would that relationship last? Would it grow? God is seeking relationship with His Bride (people). If you come before Him and repeat even the prayer format below, your not getting anything out of it and neither is God.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Our Father...stop right there, you singular, are praying. Right, its not about you alone. OUR the body of Christ. Father, the one who is in you, adopted you, raising you, providing for you..father.
Which are in heaven, this is not a earthly father who doesn't know. He owns all and knows all.
Hallowed by that name... Praise Him. Holy, wonderful, mighty, provider, creator of all the universe, an able God, a name above every name..its time to praise Him for who He is!

10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Thy kingdom come, this is about God's kingdom. Being about your Father's business.
Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Heaven meet this earthen vessel. Fill it up, running over in my life. Our heart is earth, good ground hopefully. Praying for the love God wants you to have towards Him and his body. His will in your life. The direction He wants you to go today. Giving you an ear to hear the needs of His body and the lost. Things of like nature.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.
From understanding to natural needs, its time to ask. Remember there's an "us" here. Praying for the needs of others spiritually and naturally. Another word here to note is daily. Everyday is new, old things are done away with. You need to seek Him daily.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
There's the "us" again. Its all about forgiving and being forgiven. If someone has done you wrong, remember He prayed "Father forgive them for they know not what they do".  He interceded for people who were literally killing Him. Its not only time to confess your faults and ask God to forgive you. But declare your forgiveness on those that have done you wrong and ask God to help, bless, provide etc their needs. Its about healing the wombs we afflict upon the body.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: think of it from this point, you're going into battle, is it easier knowing where your enemy is or not? If you know who the devil is, than you can plan for the attack. If you don't know your enemy, then you can be taken by him. Open our eyes to see our enemy approaching, but should be fall, deliver us.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. its time to praise Him for what He has done, what He is going to do and why He is going to do it.
Amen. So shall it be written, so shall it be done. Now walk away knowing that God has heard you and have the faith that praying after this manner brings.

25th Bear

Pastor's message "25th Bear", the blessing of knowing why we are where and who we are. Reading [Jde 1:11-13 KJV] 11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

Pastor then goes to John 10: 11-30, of course in verse 30 he brings out a few more one God scriptures from Eph 4. [Eph 4:4-6 KJV] 4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
But heading back to the the sheep, the Shepard and the hireling. The hireling flees or turns from Truth to preach a lie, when preaching truth is a difficult thing to do. [Jhn 10:11-14 KJV] 11 I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13  The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

The bringing in of the Gentiles.. [Jhn 10:16 KJV] 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
The importance of hearing His voice..[Jhn 10:26-28 KJV] 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The importance of hearing the voice of God & not taking it for granted. Lets go the the garden, [Gen 3:8 KJV] 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
The voice of God walked with them daily, yet Adam & Eve didn't realize what they had and disobeyed the voice. We need to protect the voice of truth.

Story the 25th bear; 1 out of every 25 bears will attack. Only a head or spine shot will kill a bear fast enough to protect you. Many people have studied bears & because they meet the 24 that are docile, they forget how dangerous a bear can be. Two men studying bears encountered the 25th bear. Upon entering a spot near the river they heard the chattering of the teeth, which means a bear is attacking. And the one shot at the  & despite the shot of the gun, in 1 1/2 seconds the partner was pounced upon and ripped limb from limb. The partner went up into a tree and watched it all. After the bear was done, the partner pulled him out still a live, but dieing later that night. This young man that had experienced this, went back to that same spot to revenge his partner. Upon getting to that same spot, he heard the chatter begin & climbing up the tree quickly, he aimed and killed that bear.
The little "pet" spirit you don't want the preacher to touch is your 15th bear. You protect it. What are you holding on to? Music, entertainment, jealousy, disappointment..what pet? You need to kill it!!!

[1Sa 3:8-9 KJV] 8 And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. 9 Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.

Hophni & Phinehas thought that they being Levites was enough, they took it for granted & wouldn't be corrected. Samuel was corrected & obeyed. [1Sa 3:18-19 KJV] 18 And Samuel told him every whit, and hid nothing from him. And he said, It [is] the LORD: let him do what seemeth him good. 19 And Samuel grew, and the LORD was with him, and did let none of his words fall to the ground., the boy grew in the Lord & favor..Samuel heard the voice of God, not Hophni & Phinehas. Samuel's true test, tell Eli what God told him & as a true called Prophet, he did so. The hearing of God's voice means everything!

Examples of the 25th bear from Jude 11, Cain, thinking you can offer what you want & God will accept it.

[Gen 4:3-7 KJV] 3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee [shall be] his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Balaam, wanting the reward of this world more than the rewards God gives to the obedient.
[Num 22:20-21, 37-38 KJV] 20 And God came unto Balaam at night, and said unto him, If the men come to call thee, rise up, [and] go with them; but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do. 21 And Balaam rose up in the morning, and saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. ... 37 And Balak said unto Balaam, Did I not earnestly send unto thee to call thee? wherefore camest thou not unto me? am I not able indeed to promote thee to honour? 38 And Balaam said unto Balak, Lo, I am come unto thee: have I now any power at all to say any thing? the word that God putteth in my mouth, that shall I speak.

Core, thought they could be equal with the ministry without obeying or sanctifying themselves like the ministry, their ideas were proven & the ministry was "too much" authority.
[Num 16:1-5 KJV] 1 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men: 2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: 3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD? 4 And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face: 5 And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the LORD will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.

Pastor explained that we being sheep hear the voice of God in the preaching. The spirits listed above in Cain, Balaam and Korah are very real today. When a preacher gets up and rebukes, calls a standard back into order, tells you to get rid of things, these are bears that are attacking you. He isn't on a power trip, he is trying to save your soul. He is correcting the sheep because he cares about the sheep. He is keeping the church clean so we can hear the voice of God. Holiness is right, obeying is right, standards are right, one God is right!!!

The fact, the 25th bear is a beast that will kill you if you don't kill it. Anything that stops you from hearing the voice of God, get it on an altar / get rid of it.
