Leave the Light on

[Gen 1:1-5 KJV 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.]

All in Adam are in darkness, sin. [Psa 51:5-6 KJV 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.]

When we are born we have within ourselves the "earth" our heart. It is without form, void and dark. There is no knowledge of God and who He is. When you walk contrary to God, you are walking in sin. If you don't know the Truth, how can you walk otherwise but contrary to it. Adam choose to sin knowing that God had told him the coarse of sin (lust, sin, death) and Adam died, spiritually from that moment he stepped out of light (Truth) and into darkness (sin).

[1Co 15:21-22 KJV For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.][Luk 1:77-79 KJV To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, 78 Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, 79 To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.]

[Jhn 12:46 KJV I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.][Jhn 8:12 KJV Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.]

[Jhn 1:1, 14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.]

[Psa 119:105 KJV NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.]

The same word spoken that created the heavens and the earth was robbed in flesh and died on a cross for us. That same word was preached on the day of Pentecost and is written out for us to study today. When you hear Apostolic doctrine that same light comes into your earthen vessel and gives light to your otherwise darken heart.[1Pe 2:9 KJV But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:]

Once you acknowledge that you were once in sin and through obeying the gospel (Acts 2:38-40), then you must continue in the light. God is not mocked and what you sow, you will reap. But one of the greatest things about being filled with His Holy Ghost is intercessory prayer.  We can go before God in prayer and at that altar step into the light of His judgement now. The Spirit maketh intercession for us. When we confess our faults to the Light (Jesus), our secret sins are brought to the the light and in that Light, judgment with mercy.
[Jhn 3:21 KJV But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.][Ecc 12:14 KJV For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.]
[Jer 23:24 KJV] 24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.][Luk 8:17 KJV For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.]

[1Pe 4:17 KJV For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?]

I'm not saying that you will not have a harvest, but the judgment of God is in mercy. Using a modern day example, you get a ticket for speeding. You go to the court and plead it. The judge takes the points off the ticket and you just have to pay the fine. But if you don't go to the court, you not only have to pay the fine, but the points and because of the points you now have higher insurance rates for the next two years. The difference of having judgement now in the house of God is eternal.

[Exo 27:20 KJV] 20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

God wants us to keep the light on, His word in our hearts; leading and guiding us always until the day comes when you are no longer in darkness but in eternal Light.

Fleshly Traits

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8 KJV)
If we seek first the kingdom of God, we will not be full of the flesh, but the majority of our spirit will be full of the fruits of the Spirit like Pastor talked about.
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envying’s, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (Galatians 5:16-25 KJV)
How can we be full of the fruits of the Spirit and not traits of the flesh? David said it in Psalms 1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish. (Psalms 1:1-6 KJV)
So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. (Proverbs 3:4-7 KJV)
The traits of the flesh flow when we lean to our own understanding. That's when prayer, fasting, faithfulness, etc, become not important. If we were not pulled to live in the traits the flesh, then why is there conviction in our lives trying get us to change?
When I took the mote out my own eye-I could see this and realize what I did to myself!! So let’s trust in the Lord with all our heart, not give way to our own understanding. Let us seek first the kingdom of God, stay full of the fruit of the Spirit, leaving the fleshly traits behind and the Lord will bless us. Doesn’t always mean monetary blessings, but spiritual blessings, or a victory over something you desired.

Strive to be like David

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. (Ecclesiastes 9:11 KJV)
Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in anything ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. (Philippians 3:12-16 KJV)
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (Proverbs 24:16 KJV)
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1 KJV)
It doesn't matter how quick or how slow we get there. All that matters is we make it. We stumble, we fall, but being perfect is admitting our mistakes and picking ourselves up to continue on. David was a great man in the Bible who fell and stumbled many times, but he always admitted his mistakes to the Lord and kept on going on. That is why he can say the following as his prayer:
Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. (Psalms 51:1-19 KJV)
We can make it. Strive to be like David, a perfect man in the Lord's eyes because he owned up to his mistakes, asked the Lord's forgiveness. Got back up, started running the race again.
