As there were those who claim circumcision must be done, there were those back in the days of the Apostles who also kept the Lords supper literally.
Paul says when we come together for church it is not to eat literally, if you're hungry, eat at home.
1 Cor 11:19-2219 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.
21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in
a. Heresy is to change the meaning of the word of God deserting the true meaning: to continue to eat the literal feast was to pervert the true meaning derived from types and shadows.
b. Paul clearly states here that the problem was some had interpreted communion with Christ to mean eating a literal supper.
c. Paul clearly states here that THIS IS NOT TO EAT THE LORD'S SUPPER saying they had houses to eat and drink in. This clearly states that the church service is not include, food and drink to fill the literal belly. The heart must be affected for eternal life, not the literal belly.
d. Those who remained literal were right if in fact taking something literal is an ordinance.
e. In fact the ordinance was made clear but not to the one who cannot get past the language of 1 Cor 11 to understand the meaning. Preaching and having church was the ordinances revealed by the apostle Paul.
f. Heresy is taking the word which is fulfilled spiritually and keeping it literal.
g. The guilty will answer to God like the trinitarian who baptizes both in titles and Jesus name to be safe. Something is the matter with this picture: it indicates one does not know what they truly believe.
h. So, literal eating is not a true reflection of what should happen in a church service. The word of God should be eaten by all and all have the same opportunity to hear.
i. To eat literally, allowed many undesirable things to occur, one had more food than another, one is drunken, having drank to much wine, another is hungry not having enough. When the word of God is preached and taught this does not happen, this cannot happen.
j. Heresies, eating in church opposed to eating at home. Foolishness to eat in church what you can eat at home. At home however, you cannot eat truth and drink the spirit from hearing preaching. So if you are hungry don’t wait to go to church because church is never to be had with the literal symbols which represented something greater than themselves.
While they feast with you: what kind of feast was Jude speaking of?
2 Peter 2:13-16 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
Roit in the daytime
The law is darkness and Jesus words was light. Many refused the apostles doctrine as being correct so they believing the types and shadows still to be here: rioted while the truth was revealed.
Spots and blemishes
a. Without spot nor wrinkle: to be unspotted by the world and the law by believing the doctrine of the apostles.
b. To keep the law as a means of salvation in anyway is a spot.
c. To push types and shadows as useful in anyway other than their proper use is to have wrinkle.
d. Look how they sport themselves thinking they have scripture to back up their literal views when In fact they have none.
Going back to the law from the words of the Apostles and grace is to be bewitched.
Gal 3:1-3 O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?
1. Christ calls for perfection in the new testament: at least that is the goal. The law can make nothing Perfect, but a bringing in of a better covenant can: the better covenant is the preaching of the word which fulfills the literal bread, the drinking of the Spirit of God and not a drink of literal wine. Acts 2:38 and the apostles doctrine is a better covenant than the types and shadows of the law
2. Heb 7:19 19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. Preaching of the word not eating literal bread.
3. Leaving the Spirit and preaching that brought the Spirit, to go back to eating bread and drinking wine on the literal feast day of Abib 14th, is an abomination to God and it is being bewitched. Making a doctrine more appealing to the flesh than the commandments of Christ. Acts 2:38 contains a commandment to repent and be baptized along with the promise of drinking into the Holy Ghost.
4. Apostle Prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers for the perfecting of the saints....Given up to go back to the law, why? Why? Because it is easier and no study is involved. But this is the beginning of the mystery of iniquity. Disobedient to the apostles doctrine while Claiming salvation through another unapproved method. Law and Grace mixed. The mystery of iniquity: how men can claim to possess Jesus Christ in various way and methods while being disobedient to the apostles doctrine. This is the mystery of iniquity. How man can be in iniquity against the apostles yet proclaim to the world they have salvation. Iniquity is being disobedient to the ministry God set up on this earth through the apostles whereby men can find salvation and be saved. To eat a cracker and drink wine is iniquity, the false church is
built upon iniquity and claim that their leader, who is the false Christ has been given the authority of God here on earth. By this precept millions are duped and lost. God will prove who is the only potentate and high priest of our profession, namely Jesus Christ.
Balaam forsook the right way in type of those who would embrace truth and turn from it to make the literal a stumbling block to the church.
1 Tim 1:5-8 Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
6 From which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling;
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.
8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully
a. Balaam being able to hear the voice of God as did some who sat in church feasts, left for the richer more prominent life. Unto Balak the king of Moab. Balak desiring to have Israel cursed by the prophet Balaam, offered Balaam a position and promotion in his kingdom for doing so.
b. As certain men came into the church claiming agreement with the apostles, but without allegiance, changed the truth of God into a lie and served and worshiped the creature more than the creator. Of which Balaam was type and shadow. These evil men who crept into the church unawares, took what they wanted from the doctrine of the apostles and changed the truth of God into a lie. Claiming Christ but using the law unlawfully, by keeping the literal elements of the old testament instead of replacing them with the fulfilled word of God.
c. If the spiritual meaning of the law cannot be seen or determined, the law is good only in the literal sense. There were those who desired to be teachers of the law but had no clue to its spiritual meaning. This means using it in the literal sense without being able to comprehend its spiritual meaning was an unlawful act. Leaven is not yeast in the doe but false doctrine of the Pharisees. Meat did not mean the meat from an animal. I have meat to eat that ye know not of. This meat was the doing of the will of God. To use literal bread with any connection to eternal life is using the law unlawfully. No man is crowned in the ministry except he strive and fight for the faith lawfully. The faith with the spiritual meaning and not the literal and natural.
Wandering stars who wandered from their place in Christ for the law of Moses: To whom is reserved the blackness and darkness of the law forever.
Jude 10-1310 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
a. Come curse me this people Balak said to Balaam. I cannot go beyond the word of the Lord,said Balaam, but Balaam taught Balak how to cast a stumbling block before the people by getting them to worship at the altar of baal at Peor. The altar of Baal is a type of going back to the law of Moses in the new testament. Take those who have the commandments of God and entice them to another altar which allows them more liberality. Keeping the literal law and using literal bread and wine is a curse unto Gods people. Yet many who claim to preach the Gospel of Acts 2:38 still practice law when it comes to communion. It seems the Balaams of the new testament have done their job well. The false teachers have managed to convince God fearing men the literal is demanded, using I Cor 11 and the words of Jesus at the last supper. This is the new testament in my blood.....the drink represented the new testament promise of the Holy Ghost purchased with the literal blood of Jesus. Take eat this is my body which is broken for you. The body of Jesus was not yet broken, the cross was not yet taken, Jesus was speaking of the bread representing his body the word of God. Which after his death would be broken for his church. The first message spoken by Peter on the day of Pentecost, was the breaking of the bread. Using old testament scripture that pointed to Jesus as being made Lord.
b. Going before God as Satan presented himself before God could not get God to curse those whom he had blessed. But introduce them to another sacrifice more liberal and more free, brought the evil right into the congregation by a young man of Israel and a young woman of Moab. Brandishing their new found freedom to fornicate and be together right in front of the elders of Israel. It is exactly the same today. Those who take the Eucharist are free to do as they please as long as they honor God by their taking the literal bite and drink.
What does the word of God mean here?
1 Cor 11:23-2423 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
a. No one before Jesus had ever given the spiritual understanding concerning the feast of passover but Jesus tells the disciples what the typology stands for. Jesus Christ was the word of God in flesh. In another place He said except ye eat my flesh and drink my blood. He was not speaking of his literal body. Here he is giving understanding to the disciples that he was the completion of the loaf of all the scriptures and that as he was broken they also would brake the bread of life
to the lost.
b. This is my body: The church is the body of Christ and it is the bread which will feed the world.
1 Cor 10:1717 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
a. Because we have eaten the word of God and have drank the Spirit of God we are now the body and bread of the Lord Jesus Christ.
b. We must eat the word and drink the Spirit of God discerning the body which is the church or saints of the living God.
The leaven of the New Testament:
1 Cor 5:6-8 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?
7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
a. The old leaven is the law, the law without fulfillment in Christ is leaven or false doctrine.
b. Purge out the old leaven by getting out everything of the law and allow the teachings of Jesus to make you a new creature or lump.
c. Let us keep the feast of the church service without that which the law allowed. The law allowed malice as long as it did not turn to murder. The law allowed wickedness of heart As long as it did not escalate into murder and evil doings.
d. Jesus spake of fulfilling the law: you have heard it said of them of old time thou shalt not commit adultery, but I say whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already in his heart. He was speaking about removing evil thought from the heart before they became acts and deeds.
e. Purge out the old leaven, the teaching of the literal law and preach Christ the fulfilment of it.
f. What the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh God sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh condemned sin in the flesh. Jesus condemned what the law let go.
g. The law could make nothing perfect, I can easily understand that the feast of literal food in the passover was not intended to make anyone perfect and could not. But Jesus words given to the apostle could, did and does.
The feast is kept between us and Jesus
In writing to the church of the Laodiceans Jesus told them where they must change to have fellowship with him. Simply if they would eat his word he would eat their sincerity and they would feast together. Anytime we open our hearts to eat his word he immediately comes in to feast on our obedience and desire to comply. This is to sup with the Lord Jesus, but to eat and drink literal symbols is not going to bring the same results. If we hear his word and keep malice and wickedness in our hearts he will not sup with that. The feast must be kept with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. The literal must removed from the equation.
Rev 3:17-22 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
Rev 3:14-1614 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
a. The problem with the Laodiceans was how they supped, they had Jesus on the outside because they had embraced the false teachings of the law and the eating of literal bread, and he could not get in.
b. The voice of the Lord must be heard on this most important of subjects concerning eternal life, and Jesus word must become the one and only focal point of everyone. There cannot be a mixture of old and new testament if one will be hot and on fire for God. The law makes one cold the faith of Christ and his apostles makes one hot, the mixture of the two makes for a lukewarm saints.
c. The law leaves one in the condition described here: wretched, miserable, poor, blind and naked. Lukewarm: buy of me gold, Jesus words and life was tried in the fire, buying the truth of the New testament is what makes one rich, not literal riches as thought by law. The false church is the rich church with literal gold made temple and articles. The real church is rich in the faith of the truth of the apostles.
Rom 7:24-8:2 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
a. Paul is simply stating that the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus which comes to fulfil the law, is the only thing which delivers a person from being wretched.
b. The law is the law of sin and death, there is no salvation in the law and no man can be justified by the law. So! The words of Jesus delivers one from the keeping of the old testament letter.
c. No literal bread nor wine can deliver, it keeps one bound and Laodicea was bound because from being more affected by people and the commandments of men than by God, this is what they had to overcome.
d. Paul was saying he served the law of Christ and his apostles with his mind, but with the flesh he saw a law in his members bringing him into captivity to the law of sin which was in his members. How then could he be delivered from this wretched condition? By being in Christ Jesus body and hearing the words of Christ, walking after the Spirit and not after the flesh he would be delivered from this pit. Walking after the doctrines of Christ he would be delivered from the body of lust, sin and death.
Paul confirmed the church service
1 Cor 14:39-15:11 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed
a. Let all things be done decently and in order.
b. He gave understanding on how to have church
c. The Bible is not written around having communion with a piece of bread and a small cup ofwine.
What is the feast?
1 Cor 5:8-128 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?
a. Certainly the feast is not a piece of bread and drink of wine.
b. The feast is who Jesus is, why he came, the changing of the covenants, the continuance of the seed of Abraham in us, the eating of his word and his sacrifice which fulfilled the old testament types and shadow....this is the feast.......not a morsel of bread for the stomach.
c. Notice the feast must be free from the old leaven or the old teachings of types and shadows. Is this not understandable? Is not the fulfilment of these types and shadows the true feast.
d. This is the fly in the ointment of the apothecary, the mixture of old leaven with the new testament commandments of the apostles.
e. If there is a man calling himself a brother still embracing the law with the law of Christ. Oh! by the way, there are two laws not one. If you love me keep my commandments, Jesus gave his commandments to the apostles who wrote them to the new testament church. Jesus clearly has commandments the law never had. Do not have church with a man who is looking to doctrines outside of the apostles doctrine. Feeding themselves without fear, twice dead plucked up by the roots. There is spiritual fornication as well as literal, a spiritual fornicator is one who embraces teachings of the law mixed with Christ. This is old leaven.
29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
a. Knowing we can be the chosen seed through Jesus Christ is part of the feast.
b. Eat the whole lamb: we are to eat all the word of God and digest it into works.
c. What Jesus did to bring us the feast: he became the living sacrifice he had called for In Abel and Cain in the beginning.
d. The sacrifice is tied into every phase of scripture and is the reason men are in contact with God or they are not. Cain refused and lost his contact. Abel’s blood cried to God from the ground because he offered the right sacrifice.
e. The passover was all about the sacrifice, he who obeyed and killed the sacrifice and ate it, was passed over when death came to Egypt and to the first born of both Egyptian and Israelite.
f. Jesus becomes our passover, when we eat the word and drink the spirit in the feast of the Church service.
g. Those who sit in our spiritual services thinking they are alright because they comply by eating a literal supper, are spots and blemishes not receiving the truth but are natural.
h. The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God. They are foolishness to him because they are spiritually discerned.
i. Just musing: I would never give this understanding of the truth up to be on the greatest of Platforms preaching to the largest crowds and desiring my name in lights. Balaam did this and there are many wonderful men of God who are sincere and brilliantly intellectual who cannot see the truth. While they may have great capabilities and preaching prowess, all of this pales in comparison to knowing the truth and acknowledging it. To hold this truth and continue on in taking literal symbols is to reside in condemnation. This is holding the truth in unrighteousness.
God changed the order of the priesthood: because everything in the old order was type and shadow. Decayed and ready to cease, like its priests; who advocated the death of Christ Jesus.
6 As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;10 Called of God an high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
a. Jesus was made perfect because he brought the faith that would make us ready for eternal Life. The literal bread makes nothing perfect nor affects us in any way other than remaining a type and shadow. The literal was made only to represent the more important and fulfilled.
b. Upon the understanding I will give to this man Peter, I will build my church. The fact that Peter knew who Jesus was, that he was God in a body, the word of God made flesh, dwelling among us. He therefore used the word of God on the day of Pentecost and Jesus promised to build his church upon this rock. Jesus gave Peter instructions to preach the word and answer the questions of the people with the preached and taught word of God.
c. The church cannot and must not be thought to be built upon any unfulfilled teachings of the Law of types and shadows. If anyone would have known the meaning of Jesus sayings it would most assuredly been Peter. Peter did not offer the Eucharist on the day of Pentecost neither did he give it as the answer of what the speaking in other tongues and the noise of it meant. This is that which was spoken of the prophet Joel....etc.....Joel did not prophesy a literal eating of bread but of an outpouring of the Spirit of God.
Why was there a change of the priesthood? Who was Melchizidec? Why did Arron die and the priesthood change, all Old Testament preists die: But Jesus never dies and His priesthood never changes, why?
Answer: His priesthood could never change because His fulfullment was final: never to return to the law. His fulfilling the old with the new will never again change. The word of God preached is the unchanging sacrament.
Heb 7:24-2724 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
a. Jesus is the new testament priest because there was a necessity to change from a priesthood that died and could only get the people forgiven for one year through the literal tabernacle.
b. Jesus fulfilled the tabernacle and the priesthood which Aaron represented. It was never meant for the priesthood of the old testament to be brought into the new testament. It was never meant by God for any of the types and shadows to be carried over into the new testament.
c. Every article in the tabernacle had a spiritual meaning: stood for something greater than the literal article itself.
d. The law was types and shadows but Abraham lived by faith as do those in the new testament who hear the word of God fulfilled and obey it. Melchisidec showed himself to Abraham after The battle of Chedorlaomer to received tithe of him.
e. Abraham is the type of those who live by the faith of the word of God without mixing it with law, this is the reason Melchisidec came to him.. Jesus became our high priest after the order of Melchisidec, not Aaron, so we may understand we are children of Abraham by faith and not by law or letter. Abraham was before the law and our faith is premised upon that which was before the law so, that the law could be seen and understood as being types and shadows only.
f. The literal bread is of the law, the wine is of the law. It was never meant to be a new testament way into eternal life. The fulfilling of both of those items is the way into eternal life. This is one of the reasons Jesus became our high priest after the order of Melchisedec.
A better covenant not the same covenant; a better bread and better wine: The word and the spirit.
1 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
a. The true sanctuary and tabernacle is the body of Jesus Christ, the church.
b. Jesus was a priest but did not offer gifts according to the law.
c. The priests of the old serve as types of heavenly things, pertaining to the church, which was Fulfilled by the church.
d. The true tabernacle is the church which the Lord pitched and not man. Man pitched the old testament tabernacle, Jesus pitched the church.
10 He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
e. Jesus ascended after he had first also descended, and gave some, apostles, prophets, evangelists and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, the work of the ministry and the edifying of the body of Christ. A piece of bread and drink of literal wine cannot do this.
Keep the ordinances as I delivered them unto you:
1 Cor 11:17-26
17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.
18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord's supper.21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
Heb 9:1 Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary.
a. The old testament had ordinance of divine service and a worldly sanctuary, literal ordinances which needed fulfilled by spiritual understanding. Seeing them fulfilled ans the pascal lamb was fulfilled in Christ the lamb of God.
b. The literal temple was a worldly sanctuary the same as the bread is a part of the worldly. The literal ordinances which could not make those in service to them perfect.
c. Only the word of God can deal adequately with the conscience: carnal ordinances were to made to be spiritually understood. These were imposed upon Israel until the time of reformation.
d. Which stood only in meats and drinks. The kingdom of God is not meat or drink but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost.
9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;
10 Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation.
a. The ordinances Paul delivered where not carnal ordinances but spiritual, he spake of the bread and wine of the last supper but gave the ordinances as being the preaching of the word and communion of the Holy Ghost: this is the church service. Not a place where bread feeds a literal stomach but where the word feeds the mind.
b. Those who feed the bread to their congregations are performing an abomination before God.
c. God can and will overlook this for a time but will require it later when a man should have Studied to show himself approved unto God....
d. To eat anything literally in the house of God is to despise the church of God.
