Be Careful What You Long For Because You Sure Will Get It.

“Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.” -Genesis 13:17

In essence God said, Wherever you walk, that will I give you. So, logically Abraham would have walked in the places he desired the Lord to give him. Right?....right.
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” -Galatians 6:7-8

Sowing implies labor and you generally only labor for something you desire. People who want something carnal invest something into carnality and they may reap something carnal. People who want something spiritual sow something into their spirituality that they may reap something spiritual.
We learn then, that whatever a man truly wants (which is made manifest by his works and what he sows) is what he gets.
“I the Lord search the heart, I try the reigns, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.” - Jeremiah 17:10

God said, I search the heart…why? To see its true desires...why? So He can give it what it truly wants. Why does He give to every man according to his ways (how he walks/lives) and doings? Because what a man does shows what he truly wants. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. Not just with the literal mouth, but more so with actions. Actions speak louder than words. You can make your mouth say anything; your actions are what really speak. How you live and carry yourself speaks more to people than what you say.

“This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” -Galatians 5:16-17

This implies that if you walk in the flesh you shall fulfill the lusts (desires) of the flesh. Why will you fulfill the lusts of the flesh if you walk in the flesh? Because if that is how you are walking (carrying yourself), that reflects what you truly desire and God gives to a man according to the true desires of his heart. This verse also implies that if you walk in the Spirit you will fulfill the lusts of the Spirit. (Yes, the Spirit has lusts, see Galatians 5:17, they are just a holy and righteous lusts. All lust means is a desire and yearning for. The Spirit desires and yearns for righteous things.) Why will you fulfill the lust of the Spirit if you are walking in the Spirit? Because that is the way you're walking. You can only go where you walk. So, how you walk (carry yourself) reflects what you want, where you want to go, and where you will go. So, whether you walk in the flesh or in the Spirit, that is what you will get because that is what you truly want and God will give a man what he truly wants, whether it is good or bad.

“He reigned flesh also upon them as dust, and feathered fouls like as the sand of the sea:
And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations. So they did eat, and were well filled: for he gave them their own desire; They were not estranged from their lust. But while their meat was yet in their mouths, The wrath of God came upon them, and slew the fattest of them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel.” -Psalm 78:27-31

“I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me. So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels. Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways.” -Psalm 81:10-13

Also, Romans 1:18-23 speaks of men who were suppressing the truth for their own selfish desires and it says in verse 24,
“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:” -Romans 1:24
Why did God give them over to the lusts of their own hearts? Because the lusts of their own hearts is what they wanted.
“And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;” -Romans 1:28
Why did God give them over to do those things which are not convenient? Because they wanted to do those things which are not convenient.

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved, And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” -2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

Notice how it says they received not a love of the truth…it does not say that the love of the truth wasn't offered, but that they just did not receive it. Why didn't they receive it? Because they didn't want it. They didn't want the love of the truth. There are only two things in this world. The truth….and lies. If you hate one, you will love the other. If you love one, you will hate the other. So if they didn't want the truth, the wanted lies. And because they wanted lies, God gave them what they wanted...a strong delusion. Those who don't want truth want strong delusion, and for this cause God shall send them strong delusion. Again, why? Because they had pleasure in unrighteousness. So, because they had pleasure in and delighted themselves in nrighteousness (lies), that is what God gave them. Not that God lies, but he uses the lies that the flesh creates and sends them to people who desire them. You reap what you sow…period.
“The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.” -2 Timothy 2:6
(Whoever sows is a laborer)

This is a truly terrifying message and cuts deep, but it is 100% truth. We have no idea of our hearts desire so we must watch and pray. We must ask God sincerely for righteous desires, that we may be right with Him and be molded to be like the one true Lord of all; that we may be with Him for eternity in a place without sin, pain, trouble, or sorrow. It will be a hard walk, but with the right heart and with the help and strength of Jesus Christ, the almighty God, we can do it. If you have repented, been baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues, don't stop there.
“Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement.” -Hebrews 6:1-2

Continue to strive for more. If you stop then you will not make it to heaven.
“But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” -Matthew 24:13
If you have not obeyed Acts 2:38 then you must do so, and continue always to strive for perfection and excellence in Christ Jesus.

May the Lord help us all that strive for more in Christ to endure until the end, and enlighten the eyes of those who have not obeyed Acts 2:38. In Jesus’ name.

Spiritual Parasites

Parasite: 1.) an animal or plant that lives on or in an organism of another species from whose body it obtains nutriment. 2.) a person who habitually relies on or exploits others and gives nothing in return.  This definition implies that a parasite feeds, obtains nutrients from, and essentially drains its host.

Parasites can represent spirits, as they feed off and drain their host. A spirit is a thought, or pattern of thoughts, or a mindset, or an attitude. “It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.” -John 6:63. Words are expressed thoughts. He was saying his thoughts were spirit. “A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth; and with the increase of his lips he shall be filled.” -Proverbs 18:20. Now, we know that the mouth doesn't literally produce fruit. So this scripture is spiritual. The fruit of the mouth is the words a person speaks, and words are thoughts. We say nothing that doesn't first start in our mind. The scripture is pretty much saying, how a man thinks (his mindset) determines what he produces. “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.” -Proverbs 23:7.

We know that the heart is the mind. A bad mindset produces bad fruit, and a good mindset produces good fruit. Now if we take this understanding and apply it where the Bible speaks on the fruit of the Spirit, we understand that the Spirit is the mindset of God; that mindset produces love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. I say all of that, to simply say this: spirits are thoughts and thoughts determine how you think or your mindset. So, spirits are mindsets. And if spirit is a mindset and parasites represent a spirit...a parasite represents a way of thinking (a mindset).

Some parasites consume your food, leaving you hungry after every meal and unable to gain weight. The meal is having church and the teaching of the word, and the parasite is whatever spirit (mindset) that rejects the word, and makes you unable to grow in Christ. “And when he sowed, some fell by the wayside, and the fowls came and devoured them up.” -Matthew 13:4.
Others feed off of your red blood cells, causing anemia. People with anemia have a tendency to get cold quickly and they fatigue easily. Fatigue: extreme tiredness, typically resulting from mental or physical exertion or illness. Some people come to church, get hyped, and then die out and have no determination or dedication to do what they said they would do when they were motivated. The seed is received, it springs up, and it quickly withers away when it comes time to perform the word and really grow in Christ. “Some fell upon stoney places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: and when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root they withered away.” -Matthew 13:5-6.

Some parasites even cause itching and irritability. Anger is a fruit that a carnal parasite (spirit/mindset) produces. That is not a good fruit. “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:” -James 1:19

Some parasites even cause insomnia. “Thou holdest mine eyes waking: I am so troubled I cannot speak.” -Psalm 77:4. Insomnia: inability to sleep. To sleep is to rest. We know that there is a spiritual rest in the Holy Ghost. That rest helps us not to worry and to trust God. But if a carnal parasite (spirit/mindset) causes you to have insomnia (worry) you cannot rest (trust God). And the Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. “Take therefore no thought for the morrow; for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” -Matthew 6:34.

Now that we know what some spiritual parasites are, the next questions are:  how do we avoid getting them, and if we do get them, how do we get rid of them. In order to know how not to contract them, we must know how they are contracted. The most common way to receive a parasite is through uncleanliness. Whether it is contaminated water, bad food, or from the eggs of a parasite on the ground; it is caused by contact with something unclean.

One example of a parasite that comes to mind is the mango worm. They are the larvae of the mango fly and are laid as eggs in the dirt. The animal or human then comes in contact with that dirt, whether it is by walking in that area barefoot, or rolling around or sleeping in the dirt. The freshly hatched larvae then burrow into the host's skin and feed on it. If the larvae burrow in at the wrong spot (in the ear tunnel leading to the brain) it can cause death. The worms, once settled in, are painful to have removed, and if enough burrow into the host, it can be impossible to remove all the worms, and can lead to death as well. Some patches on the host are so infested with worms that you cannot even get a good grip to squeeze them out and become inflamed which causes an animal extreme displeasure when someone tries to remove them, and they snap at the one who is trying to help them.

The dirt represents carnality. When you walk or step foot in carnality, or roll around in (enjoy) it, you receive worms (spirits) and they destroy you and deteriorate the good that is in you (the Holy Ghost). Once you receive or are exposed to those spirits it can be hard and painful to remove them. If they have enough influence it can completely separate you from God (cause spiritual death). If there are too many and/or are too deep, the preaching of the word won't have enough influence on you to be able to squeeze them out of you… also causing spiritual death.

There are parasites all around us in this unclean world, and we must be careful not to step foot in the dirt they are in. If anything, God forbid, should must be dealt with immediately and not be allowed to grow. This is done by the preaching of the word, rebuke, correction, reproved, etc.   The worms are removed by the doctor squeezing them out of the host. This is a type of the preaching of the word (goodness of God) leading to repentance.

Once the worms are squeezed out, the problem is solved, but you can't squeeze them out only halfway or even three-quarters of the way because it will wiggle its way back in and continue to feed. You have to get it out completely.

Another type of parasite is a mosquito. They fly around in the air and land on a host. The parasite itself can even transfer other parasites that it contains to the host. Of course, these mosquitoes represent people, and the parasites they transfer are the spirits (thoughts) they share. This is why we must be careful who we put ourselves around and what we watch and listen to. “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.” 1 Corinthians 15:33. The Greek word for communication, in this context, means: companionship, intercourse, communion, communication. Of course, the root word of communication is commune. Commune: 1.) Share one's intimate thoughts or feelings with, especially when the exchange is spiritual. 2.) Feel in close spiritual contact. The definition implies the exchanging of thoughts or ideas (spirits). So, communication can really be anything that you associate yourself with and allow thoughts (spirits) and opinions to be exchanged; even if it isn't face-to-face. When you watch a video, the creator of that video is still communicating his thoughts and opinions to you; likewise with music.

Then people you talk with can be mosquitoes that transfer parasites (spirits). They themselves can be a parasite: they are a spirit or a mindset. They have their own certain way of thinking (mindset). This makes them a spirit. Just like we have a spirit and other spirits (other people's thoughts) have been transferred to us by experiences or teaching by other people. We never lose our spirit (mindset/way we do things), we just add or subtract to our spirit. Our spirit is affected by other people's spirit(s). Likewise, other people's spirits are affected by ours. Like Legion, he himself had a spirit (his own way of doing things/ personal mindset), but contained many spirits (other mindsets/ ways of thinking of certain things) that were transferred to him by people, circumstances, experiences, etc. And obviously they were the wrong spirits, and were transferred to him by the wrong people. Such examples represent why we should set boundaries. We should mindful of what we watch and listen to, and who we hang out with; because when spirits are received, they can be hard to get out. Some spirits can only be cast out by fasting and prayer (see Matthew 17:21).

We must be sober and vigilant because our adversary the devil is out seeking whom he may devour. Our carnal mind is always lurking and waiting for an opportunity to grab hold of something carnal. This is why the scripture says, “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” -Proverbs 4:27.
“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.” -Romans 13:14.
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.” -1 Peter 4:7.
“Keep back the servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.” -Psalm 19:13.
May God give those who read understanding in the things written and bring them further into perfection. In Jesus’ name.
