There are so many views on the devil and theories about him and his imps, but is there really any information in the bible that might lead us to a better understanding of him and his whereabouts and identity? It seems that most of the information found on him and his beginning is very limited. Some say that if God wanted us to know about the Devil in more detail he would have given us more information. But I wonder if God hasn't really given us more information in the bible than what we realize. Also being the apparent great enemy that he is, should we not know more about this character and his tactics? When Paul said: "we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices" was he saying that to the church he apostled, or was he saying that to the church throughout the ages? If he was speaking of the church of today I am afraid that there are many churches who do not fall into this categorical statement of the great Apostle.
There are ministers who allow such things as vomiting out the devil and spitting him up in a church service. Who believe that the devil knows about our thoughts and can implant them in us here in the U.S.A. and at the same time over in China in someone else. Wouldn't this make him omnipresent? Some ministers believe that the Devil has a headquarters in each major city but that he resides over each city as the General of his army of imps. Is this kind of doctrine upheld in the scripture? Some people say they have seen the Devil or perhaps one or more of his imps at some time or other. Is this founded in the Word of God? Some preachers of great influence with large congregations believe the devil has power to do bodily injury and to cause things to happen such as sickness and catastrophe. Of course to look at the scripture all these things might appear to be possible. Some preachers I have talked to said: they saw people picked up and flung in a circular manner and slammed down on the ground. Others believe the devil can come through walls and through keyholes, saying for scripture he is the prince and the power of the air. Some say they have seen the devil or effects of his presence like tables moving and such like when the word of God supports nothing of the sort. Some have said they have seen things that the bible doesn't uphold but because they have made certain statements to others about these certain instances or encounters with the devil they feel obligated to support their past stated experiences by saying they have seen these things with their own eyes. Many times we will see what we believe or suppose we have seen it simply because we have faith that it exists.
It is not my intention to make anyone look bad or to belittle any God fearing person’s belief, yet many times just presenting truth can make it appear this intention exists.
I have been in the Apostolic ministry for 20 years and have studied this subject intently and would like to present to you for your consideration another look at the scripture and perhaps a sobering insight into the depths of Satan. I believe that what is about to be presented for your consideration is the truth on the devil.
1. What do the scriptures mean in the book of revelation chapter 12?
Some of you brethren who believe that every scripture is literal will have trouble here.
Verse one: And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
Was this woman literal? If so was the sun literal? If so was it the literal moon? My brethren because men are so literal is the reason why we have had no understanding concerning this chapter in the book of revelation.  His disciples before Pentecost were literalists also.  John 4:32 I have meat" to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith to them, My meat (Here is the meat)"is to do the will of Him that sent me, and to finish his work." AGAIN Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees’. And they reasoned among themselves, saying, it is because we have taken no bread. (See they did not understand because they took him literal when he was speaking in allegory)Which when Jesus perceived, he said unto them, O ye of little faith, why reason ye among yourselves, because ye have brought no bread? (Jesus considered this little faith, "not knowing what he meant".) Do ye not understand, neither remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? Both the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? HOW IS IT THAT YE DO NOT UNDERSTAND THAT I SPAKE IT NOT TO YOU CONCERNING BREAD, THAT YE SHOULD BEWARE OF THE LEAVEN OF THE PHARISEES AND OF THE SADDUCEES'? THEN UNDERSTOOD THEY HOW THAT HE BADE THEM NOT BEWARE OF THE LEAVEN OF BREAD, BUT OF THE DOCTRINE OF THE PHARISEES AND OF THE SADDUCEES.
Can you see how they could not understand him by believing literally? It was important to understand, and to do so they must understand that bread was doctrine. They also needed to understand that he called the meat he was eating, THE WILL OF GOD AND FINISHING HIS WORK.
Jesus said to the Syrophonecian woman in Matthew 15:26 “But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.” What was the children's bread? Certainly it was the miracle that she was to receive. Certainly the children were Israel, whom he had come to. Who then was the dogs that he would cast the bread to? Certainly it was her being a gentile, which the scripture afore called dogs. Psalms 22:16 David called the wicked dogs. For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have enclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. This David spoke concerning the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Was it not Roman soldiers that drove the nails and was it not the circumcision that promoted his crucifixion.
Phil 3:2-3
2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Paul plainly tells us that the dogs are they of the concision or those who were circumcised literally and uncircumcised of heart. Steven at the time of his being stoned identified the dogs by describing them as uncircumcised in heart and ears.
Acts 7:51 Ye stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.
Further Jesus was convicted by the literalists who turned his words against him to crucify him.
Mark 14:58
58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.
John 2:19-22
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body. 22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Jesus spoke on a spiritual level and the disciples did not understand until after the resurrection. The literalist accused him of profaning the temple or speaking against the work of God prophesying the destruction of the temple. Jesus was speaking concerning his body not the building. The devil in the Bible is the same as these examples. When Jesus used the word devil he made it sound like another entity to the literalist. But to the learned they understood the devil to be the spirits that come from the heart of man. His control over evil spirits was that he could identify them through the countenance and visible expression and actions of the person. He knew the thoughts of the heart and the spirits that had been produced by those thoughts. All these devil were products of the curse of God. Jesus came to release them from their infirmities and madness. The devil that caused them to be bound was rebellion and false teachings. The poor people were under bondage because of the ministry that was over them.
Matthew 7:6 Jesus said: Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. Was he talking of literal dogs here? Absolutely not! He was talking of people who were unconcerned about truth and did not care for it. So now, can you see that the bible cannot be understood by reading it like a newspaper? Of course any good preacher knows that the church is typed out as a woman in the scripture. The sun in the scripture is Jesus Christ. Malachi 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Peter knew this after study: 2 Peter 1:19  We have also a more sure word of prophecy, whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the DAY DAWN, and the DAY STAR arise in your hearts. Is this not the sun which we are to be clothed with. Revelation 19:8 Fine linen is the righteousness of the saints.
Please I implore you not to cast this work away saying it is farfetched or just shrug off its truth by saying it's spiritual. Those who do not understand the Word of God must not cast it away and say it is not meant to be understood. It is time for men of the faith to understand the scriptures that they have allowed to lie dormant under their literalism view. Jesus came here to get a bride, he began this tall order in his earthly ministry. Paul utters:
2 Corinthians 11:2 I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. Of course he was talking to the church at Corinth (The woman being the church collectively) or all the churches combined. The woman was taken out of Adam in the beginning. Adam being a type of the Lord Jesus. As the woman was taken out of Adams side so was the church taken out of Jesus side. Out of his side came blood and water. It was because of his death on the cross that his bride could come forth. The bride did not appear until after Jesus death, burial, and resurrection. The church could not be clothed with the Sun of righteousness until they received the Holy Ghost on the day of Pentecost, which would then allow them to become the sons of God. John 1:12
Romans 13: 14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man (Which is the Lord Jesus Christ), which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness,
Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him;
Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son,.
The church did not appear until Jesus was glorified,(John 7:39) He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified. So now see then how the church was taken out of him through his death, burial, and resurrection? This woman appeared in heaven on the day of Pentecost.
HEAVEN: Matthew 3:2 Concerning John the Baptist "And saying, Repent ye; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias',. The kingdom of heaven was not yet revealed to man for John said it was at hand, or fixing to come on the scene. Jesus foretells of its appearance in Matthew 4:17 saying Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus who was the King of the kingdom, was going to set up headquarters in them and cloth them with himself. Romans 14:17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. Of course this woman did not appear in the literal heaven that God resides in before the creation of the earth.
Many use the 12th chapter of revelations to confirm the theory of God casting Satan out of his good heaven. I contend that there never was a Satan in the literal place of Gods abode, which is the third heaven.
The Apostle Paul spoke of this heaven in 2 Corinthians 12:2. The book of revelation is the book of future revelation not past revelation. Jesus was revealing through John in the book of revelation how his church would be corrupted and what the inhabitants of the earth could expect. The information also giving understanding to the church, that would need this information in the future to make it through the maze of false so called churches that would arise. So on the day of Pentecost the church was raised into the heavenly realm of the kingdom of God called the kingdom of heaven. It was a wonder how the church came into existence. Consider these scriptures. John the baptist speaking to the Pharisees concerning the people he was baptizing " Matthew 3:9 And think not to say within yourselves, we have Abraham to our father; for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. Romans 4:25 Jesus was raised for our justification  Romans 6:4 Like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. AGAIN  Romans 8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 1 Corinthians 6:14 And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power, IS THIS ENOUGH? NO! of course there is a literal resurrection that we are going to be raised in but there is another raising in to the kingdom of heaven that must happen before we can be raised into our incorruptible and immortal bodies to be forever with the Lord at the resurrection.
SEE HERE: The church is a spiritual organism, Jesus Christ being the head of it. The church is his body; he is the Spirit of that body. As Jesus Christ is now sitting in power and authority over death and hell he has raised us up also to be in that place with him. Read: Ephesians 2:4 And hath raised us up together,(to where?) and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus;. This is the wonder in heaven that John saw in the book of revelation. A wonder in heaven, not Gods abode but the kingdom of heaven when it appeared on the day of Pentecost. This woman was the church, not Israel. Israel was never clothed with the sun of righteousness until Pentecost. The moon was the law which was a reflection of the sun, the sun being Jesus Christ. This woman stood on the law, no longer under it but raised above it. Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed, Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ that we might be justified by faith, But after faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster, For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus, For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (HERE IT IS AGAIN) Clothed with Christ.
NOW WHERE ARE WE? Galatians 4: 26 But Jerusalem which is the New Testament church Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion', and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all,. BUT JERUSALEM IS WHAT: WHICH IS ABOVE IS FREE. The church, the woman Galatians 4:22 Sarah being the type of the church and Hagar a type of the law. Sarah a type of Jerusalem and heaven the church. This woman appearing in the book of Revelation is the church clothed with the righteousness of her husband, Jesus Christ, having been raised above the law standing on the law, having it for her foundation. CONTINUING NOW: This woman was the only woman that could ever bring forth a man-child. A man-child is a mature saint who has put on Christ. Israel could not produce a perfect Christian. This woman was in pain to deliver to the World a mature church that could be exemplary of its savior Jesus Christ. However, this pain to deliver was thwarted by the appearance of another wonder appearing in heaven also. Revelation 12:3.
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. FOR I KNOW THIS, THAT AFTER MY DEPARTING SHALL GRIEVOUS WOLVES ENTER IN AMONG YOU, NOT SPARING THE FLOCK.  ALSO OF YOUR OWN SELVES SHALL MEN ARISE (See, they will appear in heaven also) speaking perverse things, to DRAW AWAY disciples after them. (Here is the serpents’ tail which drew the third part of the stars of heaven) Isaiah 9:15 The prophet that teacheth lies, he is the tail. ALSO Jude 4: For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Jude 12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you feeding themselves without fear. clouds without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. Revelation 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having, having seven heads and ten horns. 12:4 And his tail Isaiah 9:15  DREW the third part of the stars of heaven. Who are the stars. Revelation 1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. THE SEVEN STARS ARE THE ANGELS OF THE CHURCHES. Does this follow true with the scripture? Of course. Each letter in chapter 2 and 3 was addressed to the angel of the church in it's respective place.
Isaiah 14:13 The king of Babylon exalted his throne above the stars or the prophets of God. Daniel 12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the STARS for ever and ever. Because there is no correct interpretation of the scripture in the book of revelation, it cannot, therefore, be used to substantiate a belief that there is a specific angel that fell from heaven. Using these scriptures to substantiate a literal devil besides what the bible declares to be evil men with the evil mind is a unscriptural foundation. Revelation 12 is speaking of the false apostles that left the original teaching of the apostles’ doctrine and traded their eternal life for what they thought the scripture was saying. The Devil in Revelation 12 was the mind or heart of man which changed the truth of God into a lie. His angels are they who were also persuaded by those who were carnally minded teachers. The book of Revelation has no scriptural support for the
teachings of a devil that fell from heaven before the earth was finished being created.
Rev 12:12 herefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
a. These evil teachers who changed Gods truth into a lie; believed their thoughts and interpretations instead of the Apostles of the Lamb.
b. The Apostles doctrine is the twelve and only entrances to the city of God.
c. All that the Apostles taught is the way into the city of God, first the church and then into Gods abode and eternity.
d. The devil also knows scripture and believe there is only a short time in which to work.
e. The devil is all the false teachers who have left the teachings of the Apostles yet believe there invented Gospels will prepare folks for heaven.
f. These are fighters against the truth of God and they are working in these last hours to gain for themselves and their kingdoms as many souls as they possibly can. The devil knows that he has but a short time.
g. Here are the twelve stars on the head of the church, the twelve Apostles.
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
a. Here is the war and the fighting in heaven: Ungodly men fighting against the truth of the Apostles and the holiness of their teachings. These ungodly men are the tail of Revelation 12.
b. The grace of God is having the baptism of the Holy Ghost to live holy lives and be holy. Receiving the Holy Ghost is God having extended his grace toward us by giving us the power of his Spirit. By obeying the Gospel of Repentance, Baptism in water in Jesus Name. God then gives us the Holy Ghost which we did not deserve. This is true grace. Grace cannot be had any other way. The Holy Ghost is given to us so we may live above sin that it does not have dominion over us.
c. Lasciviousness: These ungodly men changed the Gospel of true grace into a Gospel that allowed men to live in lasciviousness and still maintain their standing in God as if they were saved.
d. A man denies the Lord God when he explains away the necessity of the Holy Ghost to live a holy life.
e. To live a holy life and become a true saint of God it takes the power of God which is the Holy Ghost coupled with the Preached and taught the word of God in our lives. These false brethren who entered in unawares began to fight to bring their brethren back under the old covenant of the law and out from the true Gospel thus denying the Only Lord God even our Lord Jesus Christ.
f. Men have changed the truth of the scriptures and the necessity of the Holy Ghost because they desired a way to be religious without having to be obedient to the truth.
g. A way to appear approved of God while having taken their own thoughts.
Gal 2:4 And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
Acts 15:1 And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
Acts 15:24 Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:
I Jn 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they  would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. (The false prophets drew men out from the apostles)
a. This is how the tail drew away the stars or preachers from heaven.
Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhibitors of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
a. The devils here believe they are right and doing a work for God thus they believe just like us that the time before the coming of the Lord is short.
b. They are doing everything they can to reach as many as they can be for the return of Jesus Christ.
2 Cor 11:13-15
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.
a. Satan himself is the carnal mind both in religion and out of religion. Those who profess that they are saved without truth. This is the carnal mind transformed into light.
b. His ministers: Satan which is the carnal mind also has ministers, men who profess themselves saved but not by the apostle's doctrine. These false brethren were the beginning of the tail of revelation 12.
Gal 5:10-13
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offense of the cross ceased.12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
I Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
a. Here now are the prophets spoken of in Revelation 12 that left the Apostles teaching to go down to the world.
b The inhibitors of the heavens are the church where the false prophets came from. The inhibitors of the earth are the people of the world who will be lied to and have the wrath of God brought on them because of the false prophet that came down to them from the heavenly realm of the church or apostolic doctrine.
Acts 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. (These are false prophets drawing away disciples after them)
Rev 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
The church is the woman in heaven and the false prophet is listed above who drew away the stars or preachers after them.
c. The old man is the devil....Thus they changed the gospel to one the old man was never crucified and Jesus Christ was never put on.
d. The Jews of that day changed the truth of God into a lie by adding to the truth Law.
e. An old testament priesthood, thus changing times and seasons. When the truth of God was revealed through the apostles teaching, they endeavored to bring them back under the law and its natural observances.
Rom 1:22-25
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen,  being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
The Devil cannot be seen, but he can be understood by the things which are made.
1. Serpents tell us about the devil.
2. Trees tell us about the devil.
3. The belly and its appetite tells us about the devil.
You can't see the evil heart of man but he can be understood by the things here stated. Of course, there are literal serpents and natural trees but when Jesus wanted to explain a spiritual thing he used a natural thing to do so. Men are afraid to use natural things as spiritual because they do not understand and are afraid to go too far so they introvert by making everything literal so they can understand it. This kind of attitude will not work if we are to understand the Bible and its teachings.
Mat 23:33  Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Mark 16:18  They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
THE KIND OF SERPENTS WE TAKE UP ARE OF THE SPIRITUAL TYPE, THIS HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM TO THOSE WHO ALWAYS TAKE JESUS LITERAL, THEY THINK IT MUST BE A SNAKE. When we take command of a spirit in a person we are taking command of it in the name of Jesus with the anointing of the Holy Ghost which is in us.
Num 27:16 Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, set a man over the congregation, There are no spirits in the air. The only spirits in the air are those which come out of the flesh. The heart makes the words and thoughts which are taken or rejected by the man. The man who takes an evil thought will project an evil spirit. The man who takes the Word of God for his thought will project and possess a holy spirit. Spirits are projected from us by our attitudes and expressions. Our actions speak loudly of what we believe. Jesus is not the God of the spirits of ghosts or goblins. Any spirits outside of the flesh of man are the angels of God.  So When Jesus identified an evil spirit in a man he used the literal things that he made and that we understand so as to give us an example that we might see there attitudes and the real underlying thoughts of their expressions. The serpent is the reptile most people abhor because they are deadly, quiet and sneaky. The words and thoughts of the Pharisees were also.
Luke 10:19-20 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
James 3:7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind:
James 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Matt 12:34-35
34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
a. James merely states that all manner of beasts can be tamed of mankind but the tongue of man can no man tame. This tongue can only be tamed by God.
b. The tongue is just like one of the beasts of the field, but it is more subtle.
c. Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made.
d. This serpent that God had made was the spirit that could not be tamed in Adam and Eve.
e. The scripture does not state that the serpent was more subtle than any other beast of the field because it was not one of the beasts of the field.
f. This serpent spirit was produced out of the heart of Eve when she overrode Gods word with her own thought saying that the tree which God had commanded not to be eaten of was good for food.
g. This thought taken by her from her own heart was the sly cunning serpent.
Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
Matt 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
Jar 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
John 13:2 And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him;
a. The devil which are the evil thoughts that come from the heart of man.
b. Judas had allowed the thoughts of turning Jesus over to the enemy to remain in his contemplative memory, they were always there but he had not yet made up his mind to take them and allow them to motivate and propel his actions.
c. This is why Jesus said take not thought for tomorrow because he knew that we have anxieties about tomorrow and that we allow it to affect us today and now.
d. Jesus was simply stating a fact that we should not take just any thoughts.
e. The devil was the carnal mind that produced the evil thought of betraying the Lord.
f. This is the reason Jesus called Judas a devil because he took thoughts that were contrary to truth and against the truth. Judas was a carnal person in that his heart was governed mainly by what his senses gathered and not by what he heard from the Lord.  If we allow our hearts to gather only information through the senses and not by faith in truth our hearts are earthly, sensual and devilish.
James 3:14-15 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
g. A seducing spirit is a spirit that has injected a thought from their own heart into their teaching and proclaimed it to be from the Lord.
h. The devil put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot because the heart which produced the evil thought is the devil.
i Judas Iscariot was on the take. He was ready to betray the Master. No outside devil came to Judas Iscariot and did this.
